Gonzalo and Rosalia Martínez defend their lead on the first day of the Baitra Trophy

Saturday, July 6, 2013.- The representatives of the Monte Real Club de Yates de Bayona Gonzalo and Rosalía Martínez, defend from today the leadership in the Baitra Trophy of the Cadet class, which until tomorrow, Sunday, hosts their club as host of the sporting event, which in this edition will once again be qualifying regatta in the Galician ranking.

Under the organization of Monte Real, it has the collaboration of Effects Naval Jesús Betanzos, Novagalicia Banco, the Territorial Secretariat of the Cadet class and the Galician Sailing Federation.

The Baitra Trophy Committee has managed to carry out the three tasks scheduled for this first day of the regatta, a day in which the weather forecast did not guarantee sufficient wind intensity to give any start. However, a small mist installed in both mouths of the Ría de Vigo, carried a soft component from the northwest, with a needle heading between 300 and 310, which reached up to 8 knots on the beacon anemometer at the most highlights of the three validated sleeves.

There was a postponement on land, which lasted less than an hour, with the first Top in the water at around 3:30 p.m.

Great first day for the locals, the brothers Gonzalo and Rosalía Martínez, who finished the day with 4 points, the result of some excellent partials that were 1-2-1.

The second provisional place is for the members of the regatta team of the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, Marcial Peralba and Carlos Silva, with 9 points, the third being for his teammates Kevin Figueras and Luís Sampedro, with another 9 points.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the Top is scheduled at 11:30 in the morning, with an award ceremony in the Yacht Club garden at five in the afternoon.

At the end, Effects Naval Jesús Betanzos, will give the participants vouchers redeemable for nautical material.
