The J80 Class Winter League returns

The J80 Class Winter League of the Monte Real Club de Yates returns to the water this Saturday with a new day of tests starting at three in the afternoon in the Bay of Baiona.

With winds from the south southwest of an average of ten knots, the participating sailboats will compete in a maximum of three windward-leeward races in a regatta field that the committee will design based on the weather conditions that are recorded.

On the starting line, ten monotypes that will sail as a fleet and compete in real time to climb positions in the provisional classification, which is led by Javier de la Gándara’s Okofen after having signed a full victories on the first day.

Six points behind the leader, in second position, is Miguel Lago’s Virazón; and Enrique Porto’s Ferralemes is third, three points behind second and nine behind first. Completing the classification are Cansino by Fernándo Yáñez, Miudo by Storax by Tiago Roquete, Namasté by Luis de Mira, Pazo de Cea by María Campos, Mondo by Bernardo Macedo, Luna Nueva by Juan Luis Tuero, and Alumisel by Willy Caamano.

The public who wants to enjoy the competition, which will start at three in the afternoon, will be able to see the tests from the walls of the Parador Nacional de Baiona, Monteferro, Monte Lourido or Playa América.
