Tomorrow, Saturday, a new edition of the Monte Real Club de Yates winter cruise regatta begins in the Vigo estuary, which this year is being held under the name of the AXA Trophy, in honor of its sponsor.

The test will begin at four in the afternoon in front of the facilities of the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, which collaborates in the organization of the competition by providing its facilities for mooring the boats.

The 25 participating sailboats must complete, in the shortest possible time, a coastal route of about 15 miles between Vigo and the Bay of Baiona. If there are no changes in the weather and the wind accompanies it, as the forecasts indicate, the crews should not spend more than three hours completing it.

Once this first day is over, the crews will not return to the water until the following weekend. On Saturday the 16th, the second stage of the competition will be held, which will include several windward-leeward tests in the Bay of Baiona. And at the end, awards ceremony at the Monte Real Club de Yates.

In the previous edition, the Unus of Luis Manuel García, in the general classification, and the Luna Nueva of Juan Luis Tuero in the J80 class took the victory.
