Paco Llobet comes back on the second day and wins the Vitaldent Regatta of the Paralympic class

Sunday, June 16, 2013.- The sailor from the Club Náutico Arenys de Mar, Paco Llobet – Ibrerdrola/RFEV team – has carried out the Vitaldent Regatta with ease, organized jointly this weekend by the Monte Real Yacht Club and the Alex Foundation, with the collaboration of the Department of Mobility of the Baiona City Council, the National Secretariat of 2.4 mR, the Spanish Paralympic Committee, the Galician Sailing Federation, Tourism of Galicia, Rías Baixas Tourism, Bodegas Terras Gauda and Madrid 2020 among others.

The sailing event, scoring in the Iberdrola Circuit of the class, has added 6 more tests to the credit of the global general classification, thanks to the excellent work carried out by its Committee, which has not had an easy time in this second Sunday shift, due to the constant roles of the component.

After the provisional leadership of the representative from Jávea, Rafael Andarías, the balance of the Vitaldent Regatta has tilted towards the good work of Paco Llobet, who after freeing himself in the discard of the fourth round of the DNF the day before, has managed to manage his income with 8 points, of which two were first places, and the rest 3 seconds.

Behind the Arenys sailor, Javier Contreras, from the Real Club Mediterráneo, was positioned with 16 points. Contreras closed his participation with a first in the last round of the Vitaldent Regatta.

The third position went to Andarías, who had 19 points, with conditions at sea and in the meteor that were not favorable today.

The Top time was brought forward, scheduled for 12 noon with the first honk at 11 in the morning. The three Sunday tests were navigated with a medium wind from the southwest, which hovered around the 200-220 needle course. The intensity was between 10 and 12 knots.

The technical route, similar to that of Saturday, that is, with Offset and Puerta, was increased by another half mile. They traced two beats and two sterns of 2.5 miles in its entirety.

The awards ceremony was held at half past five in the afternoon, with the presence of the mayor of the town of Baiona, Jesús Vázquez Almuiña, presided over by Rafael Olmedo, president of Monte Real, and who was accompanied by the president of the Real Spanish Sailing Federation, José Ángel Rodríguez; Iberdrola’s Delegate in Galicia, Francisco Silva; the president of the Galician Sailing Federation, Manuel Villaverde; the Councilor for Mobility of Baiona, Policarpo Vilar; and the Commodore of the Yacht Club, Miguel Lago.
