The Monte Real Club de Yates inaugurates its 2015 regatta calendar this Saturday with the celebration of the Vitaldent J80 Trophy, a competition organized exclusively for this class of boats.

The championship, for which the registration period remains open, will include 7 days of tests in the Bay of Baiona. The first will be this Saturday, the 17th, to continue with 6 more days on January 31, February 14 and 28 and March 14 and 28 from three in the afternoon; and on Sunday March 29 from 11 in the morning. On each of these days the boats will compete in a maximum of three heats and the classification will be done in real time.

To make the J80 class known to more sailors, the committee will allow the inclusion of a fifth crew member, who will sail only as an observer. You must stand behind the skipper and you will not be able to participate in the maneuvers.

The Vitaldent J80 Trophy is part of the J80 League of the Monte Real Yacht Club, which began last October with the Autumn Trophy. In that first championship, Miguel Lago’s Virazón won the victory. In second and third position were Mi Moneda, by Guillermo Caamaño, and Namasté, by Luis de Mira.

In addition to this trophy, in the regatta calendar of the Baiona club there are already scheduled 10 other competitions that will be held throughout 2015, a year in which Monte Real turns 50 years old.
