Baiona, February 28, 2016.- An exciting day of sailing this Sunday in the bay of Baiona with a new stage of the J80 Class Winter League organized by the Monte Real Club de Yates. The regatta committee started three tests that were held with a wind of about 10 knots on average, very shifty at the beginning but settled towards the end and rising in intensity to 12 knots.

Miguel Lago’s Virazón once again demonstrated its power in the water, recovering the leadership it reached on the first day but which Miudo snatched from it on the second. In the three regattas held today, those from Lago achieved two first places and one second and, also benefiting from a discard, they distance themselves, with their 9 points, four from the Portuguese boat, skippered by Rui Ramada, who has 13.

The provisional bronze of the championship is maintained, with 18 points, by Willy Caamaño’s Alumisel, who this Sunday had a tough battle with Enrique Porto’s Ferralemes, fourth overall with 19 points.

Juan Luis Tuero’s Luna Nueva, despite being the first to cross the finish line in one of the regattas held today, was unable to overcome the fifth position that it already had from the previous day.

Completing the classification, in this order, are the Pazo de Cea, the Namasté and the Náutico Cormorán, the latter two not having participated in the third stage.

The J80 Class Winter League of the Monte Real Club de Yates will resume in mid-March with two new days of regattas and the awarding of prizes to the winners.
