Tomorrow the AXA J80 Autumn League is resolved

 

· The bay of Baiona hosts this Saturday the last tests of the competition with which the Monte Real Club de Yates closes its 2018 sports calendar

· In the lead and with a 6-point advantage over their most direct rival, Javier de la Gándara’s Okofen has all the ballots to take the final victory

· After the tests in the water, the championship will conclude with a fellowship dinner in which the prizes will be awarded to the winners.

 

Tomorrow, Saturday, starting at three in the afternoon, the bay of Baiona hosts the last tests of the J80 Autumn League, which the Monte Real Club de Yates has been holding since last October with the sponsorship of AXA Seguros.

The one-design championship, which was reduced to three stages after the suspension of its last day due to the rain and wind storm, will experience its last tests on a day that is expected to be typically winter, with a lot of cloudiness and rain, but also with good wind to haggle, with an average of 17 knots and peaks that could reach 30 knots.

With these weather forecasts, the participants will have to fine-tune their decisions and strategies to climb positions to the positions of honor, which are currently occupied by Javier de la Gándara’s Okofen, Manuel María Cunha’s Marías-Casas do Telhado and Manuel María Cunha’s Luna Nueva. With four first places in the six events held so far, 6 points in the provisional classification and 6 points ahead of their closest rival, the Okofen crew, who have maintained their leadership since the first day, have all the ballots to take the final victory.

To define the rest of the podium boxes, we will have to wait for what happens tomorrow, Saturday, in the water, since the next three classified are in a range of just 6 points, which goes from the 12 that the Portuguese Marías-Casas do Roof at 18 from Pazo de Cea, passing between 16 from Luna Nueva.

With 25 and 26 points respectively, Bernardo Macedo’s Mondo and Luis de Mira’s Namasté are the next classified and the ones that could scratch a podium position if they manage to sign some very good results in the last three tests.

After the competition on the water, the AXA J80 Autumn League will continue on land with the celebration of a fellowship dinner in which shipowners, skippers, sailors, members of the regatta committee and directors of the Monte Real Yacht Club and AXA Seguros will participate. .

Throughout it, the prizes will be awarded to the winners and they will be invited to the next edition of the J80 Winter League, scheduled for the months of January, February and March 2019.
