ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE FINAL RACE OF THE ISONOR J80 WOMEN’S NATIONAL LEAGUE

 

The FINAL of the ISONOR J80 FEMALE NATIONAL LEAGUE will be held in the waters of the Bay of Baiona on October 8, 9 and 10, 2021, organized by the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona with the collaboration of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation and the Royal Galician Sailing Federation.

1. RULES

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the Sailing Regatta Regulations (RRV).

1.2 The J80 Class Rules[DP] .

1.3 For all the rules that govern this event, the notation[NP] refers to the fact that an infraction of this rule will not be a reason for protests between boats (modifies RRS 60.1(a)).

1.4 COVID-19 Protocol.

2. ADVERTISING

2.1 Participants may display advertising in accordance with RRV 6.1, the RFEV Competition Regulations and the RFEV prescriptions for said Regulations.

2.2 According to RRV 6.1, participants may be required to display advertising on the front 20% of the hull, on each side of the boat, which will be provided by the Organizing Club, once their registration is confirmed.

3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRIES

3.1 The LIGA NACIONAL FEMENINA ISONOR J80 Regatta is a regatta for female crews in J80 class boats.
This event will be limited to a maximum of 20 boats.

3.2 Owners and skippers must be members of the J80 Class National Association and be registered at www.j80measurement.org/boats.

3.3 Entries must be made before October 5, 2021, through the Entry Form found on the regatta website: https://www.mrcyb.es/regatas/

The registration is conditioned to the presentation of the following documents:

• Current RC insurance policy, with valid receipt, with extended coverage for regattas.
• Participants of nationality or with legal residence in Spain or who represent a Spanish Club, the athlete’s federation license in progress.
For crew members from other countries, who do not have a license from the RFEV, accident insurance per crew member.
• In case of advertising, authorization from the respective National Authority for the display of advertising, if applicable.
• Proof of being up to date with the International Class J80.

4. REGISTRATION FEES

4.1 Registration fees will be €150 and will be made by bank transfer to the account:

Indicating the sail number of the boat and the Women’s Sailing League of J80.

4.2 The Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept registrations received after the registration deadline. In case of acceptance, the entry fees will have a price of €200 per boat.

4.3 With the registration payment, the participants will have the right to accommodation with arrival on Friday and departure on Sunday (Hotel Anunciada and Hotel Tres Carabelas). The accommodation will be managed through the mail: regatas@mrcyb.com

5. SCHEDULE AND COMPETITION FORMAT

5.1 The program of the event is as follows:

5.2 On the 10th there will be no departure later than 4:30 p.m.

5.3 The intended competition format is fleet racing.

5.4 There are 6 races scheduled, of which 2 must be completed for the regatta to be valid.

6. TOURS

Courses will be windward/leeward type courses, which will be specified in the IR.

7. MEASUREMENTS. REGISTRY OF SAILS AND EQUIPMENT.

7.1 The registration of sails and equipment inspection will be carried out on the date and times indicated in point 5 of the AR.

7.2 The boats will present to registration the elements that are listed in their written declaration, which will be: 1 Mainsail, 1 Jib and 1 or 2 Gennakers.

7.3 Sails must be measured according to class rules before the event, carry the official sticker (rule G2.3) and be registered at www.j80measurement.org/boats.

7.4 No boat may compete using the aforementioned sails without being previously registered.

7.5 Daily measurement controls may be carried out.

8. PENALTIES SYSTEM

RRS 44.1 and 44.2 is amended so that the two-turn penalty is replaced by the one-turn penalty.

9. SCORE

9.1 Appendix A and the Low Point System described in rule A4 of the RRS will apply.

9.2 With less than 4 races sailed, a boat’s total score will be the sum of all its results, without discarding any race. If 4 or more races have been completed, each boat’s total score will be the total of all its points, discarding its worst result.

10. BERTHS

The boats formally registered in this regatta not belonging to the MRCYB fleet will have a free mooring or anchoring place (mooring under the exclusive responsibility of the owner or skipper) reserved in the MRCYB.

11. BOATS

The organization has arranged for a series of boats to be able to participate in said championship.

The boats must be requested at direcciondeportiva@mrcyb.com or regatas@mrcyb.com and will be confirmed in strict order of registration.

12. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

The IRs will be available on the regatta website from Thursday 8th October.

13. PRIZES

The list of prizes will be exposed in the TOA of the regatta before the beginning of the tests.

14. LIABILITY

14.1 All boats participating in the regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility.

14.2 The Monte Real Club de Yates, the Organizing Authority or any other person or body involved in the organization of the event, rejects any responsibility for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that may occur to people or things, both on land and at sea, as a result of participating in the tests covered by this Notice of Race.

14.3 Attention is drawn to Fundamental Rule 3 DECISION TO RACE, of part 1 of the RRS which states:

“It is the exclusive responsibility of a boat to decide whether to participate in a test or to continue racing”
