XXXIX Count of Gondomar Trophy 2014

24-07-2014

The Conde de Gondomar Trophy is the most charismatic regatta of the Monte Real Yacht Club, which has already had around forty editions. Created in 1976, it has been held since then without interruption, consolidating itself as one of the classic regattas on the national calendar.

The Conde de Gondomar Trophy has maintained the same scheme since its origins, which has two crossing stages. The first of these consists of sailing to Finisterre and returning to Baiona without interruption, rounding the already mythical Carrumeiro Chico lighthouse. This test, with more than 110 miles of travel, has become one of the most emblematic cruising tests of national cruising sailing. In addition, the Conde de Gondomar consists of another medium-distance crossing stage of 40 miles, around the Ons archipelago and a windward-leeward section in the Vigo estuary.
