BAITRA SAILING CHILDREN TROPHY
Optimist class Baiona, May 25 and 26, 2019

The Baitra Children’s Sailing Trophy for the Optimist class is a regatta to promote the sport of sailing that will be held in the waters of the Bay of Baiona on May 25 and 26, 2019, organized by the Monte Real Club de Yates (MRCYB) with the sponsorship of naval accessories BAITRA.

1. RULES

The regatta will be governed by:

1.1 The regatta rules as defined in the WS (World Sailing) RRV Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020.
1.2 The rules of the Optimist class.
1.3 The Race Instructions and this Notice of Race.
1.4 The special rules that the Organizing Committee stipulates for this regatta.
1.5 In the rules that govern this regatta the notification[NP] refers to the fact that an infraction of this rule will not be a reason for protests between boats. (Modifies R 60.1(a) of the RRS).
1.6 In the event of a discrepancy between this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, the latter shall prevail.

 

2. ADVERTISING [NP][DP]

2.1 Participants may display individual advertising classified as Category C in accordance with Regulation 20 of the WS and the prescriptions of the RFEV to said regulation.

2.2 Participants will be required to display advertising in accordance with section 20.3 (d)(i) of Regulation 20 of the WS.

 

3. PARTICIPATING CLASSES

Participation will be limited exclusively to boats of the OPTIMIST Class (classes A, B and C).
– Class A (Born in 2004, 2005 and 2006)
– Class B (Born in 2007 and 2008)
– Class C (Born years 2009, 2010 and School)

Those born in Division B and C may participate in the higher Division if they prove a quality record, as long as there are places available.

 

4. REGISTRATION

4.1 Registration:

4.1.1 Entries will be made online, through the SAILING CONTROL platform. The link is the following:

4.1.2 The registration fee is €10/sailor, which must be paid by bank transfer or deposit in the current account indicated below or at the MRCYB office (indicating the name of the sailor and club):

4.2 Confirmation of registration:

4.2.1 The Registration of participants and coaches will be mandatory, taking place at the Regatta Office and presenting the following documentation:

1. Valid federative license (valid school license for those who are taking a course during that period).
2. Registration Form duly completed.

All coaches must also submit the following documents:

1. Federal technician license 2019.
2. Support vessel documentation.
3. Support vessel insurance receipt.
4. Necessary qualification for the management of the support vessel.

They must also carry, while at sea, a VHF transmitter with channels 16, 69 and 72. In addition, each crew member of the support boat will be provided with a life jacket.

4.2.2 Each skipper (or their representative coach) must personally sign the registration form before 12:30 p.m. on May 25, 2019 at the Regatta Secretariat.

4.3 Only the person registered as such may act as employer.

 

5. PROGRAM

5.1 The program of the event is as follows:

May 25 (Saturday)

From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Regatta Office Opening. Registration of participants. Delivery of Regatta Instructions.

1:00 p.m. – Meeting of committees and coaches.
2:30 p.m. – Exit signal for the 1st race of the day.

May 26 (Sunday)

11:30 a.m. – Start signal 1st test of the day (this day a start signal will not be given after 3:30 p.m.).

4:30 p.m. (approx.) Award ceremony

 

6. COMPETITION FORMAT. ROUTES

6.1 The competition format will be fleet.

6.2 There are 6 races scheduled, of which 1 race must be completed for the regatta to be valid.

6.3 Routes on a Trapeze will be used, with an average duration of approximately 35/40 minutes. The exact courses will be specified in the Sailing Instructions.

 

7. SCORE

7.1 Appendix A and the Low Score system, described in RRS rule A4.1, will apply.

 

8. PRIZES

8.1 There will be prizes for the top three finishers in each category and a special mention for School sailors.

8.2 The winner of each of the categories will receive, in addition to the trophy, a check worth 100 euros courtesy of Effects Naval Jesús Betanzos

8.3 The list of prizes will be posted in the TOA before the first start

 

9. LIABILITY

9.1 Participants in the trophy do so at their own risk and responsibility.

9.2 The MRCYB or any person or body involved in the organization of the event, reject any responsibility for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that may occur to people or things, both on land and at sea, as a result of participation in the covered tests. for this Notice of Race.

Attention is drawn to the Fundamental Rule 4, decision to race, of part 1 of the RRS, which states:

“It is the exclusive responsibility of a boat to decide whether to participate in a test or to continue racing.”

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

· Picnics will be distributed among the participants on both trophy days
· At the end of the awards ceremony there will be a snack for the sailors
· A special space will be set up in the club’s car park for loading and unloading boats
